“As designers, we loved this tudor house from the moment we set foot in it nearly 20 years ago. Although it’s a legal two-family we occupied it as a very spacious one-family.
Perhaps 12 years ago we decided to add an extra living space so we put in the wall you see on the left side of the first floor and made the upstairs self-sufficient. The living room was huge so the wall made no difference.
This arrangement allowed me to do my business work on the first floor while my wife was undisturbed upstairs in her own little private paradise, meditation space, and office. It was the perfect setup. The two spaces are connected by an interior door so we have the best of both worlds. If we ever decide to remove that wall we are right back to more room than we need.
Over the years we thought about lowering our costs substantially by renting either the entire upstairs or the first floor/basement which is built completely out ... also like a little heaven but this one is for me. It's a Legal 2 family so there is no issue.
We even considered AirBandB which was a real possibility. But the truth is we loved it just the way it was. :)”
